Abu Dhabi Ladies Club

Client sector: Leisure & community | Location: UAE | Asset: Two-phase members’ club and sports academy
ESG provided the structural engineering for both phases of the Abu Dhabi Ladies Club, a landmark leisure and sports destination for its members. The brief spanned grand social spaces, sports facilities and landscaped grounds. Each phase asked for ambitious architecture backed by safe, buildable structure. ESG turned sweeping forms into framing that could be built with confidence.
Project Overview
The club is delivered in two complementary phases. Phase one centres on the Main Club House, with lounges, restaurants, a spa, play areas and an outdoor pool, supported by a gate house, utility building, streets and parking. Phase two adds a sports academy, an arts and music academy, a shooting range, administration and service buildings, festival landscaping and a private beach lagoon. ESG engineered the structures across both phases.
Scope of Work
- Structural analysis, modelling and calculation reports.
- Full detailed structural design drawings for both phases.
- Framing for the sweeping plaza canopy roofs.
- Foundations suited to the coastal island site.
- Coordination of leisure, sports and back-of-house zones.
Structural Approach
The architecture called for long, column-free social spaces and dramatic curved roofs. ESG framed wide clear spans so lounges and halls stayed open and flexible. The signature plaza canopies were engineered as light steel structures over the pool. Column grids were tuned to keep sightlines and circulation generous. Each member space was sized around its real use and loads.
Durability and Standards
The design follows recognised international structural codes. Exposed coastal elements were detailed for durability against salt and sun. Robust framing lets the club adapt as its activities grow. The result is built to serve members for the long term.
Project Outcomes
The Abu Dhabi Ladies Club gives members a premium place to gather, train and relax. ESG’s framing carried bold architecture without sacrificing buildability. Wide spans, curved canopies and coastal detailing came together in one coordinated scheme. Across both phases, the structures are durable, code-compliant and ready for decades of use.
